freshmeat.net
Fixing up a true classic
Probably one of the best known open source / free software directories, freshmeat.net is as popular as it is structurally and visually outdated. Some time ago, I was commissioned to finally change that.
Despite some constraints concerning page structure and the content’s quantity/character, the final result was quite a step forward: New logo and color way, clearer layout and simplified navigation — provided in ready-to-use XHTML/CSS templates for all main and subpages.
Sadly, the implementation of my redesign is off my hands and though it apparently started quite some time ago, I can’t say when or if it will be completed.
